My wife Jennie and I just finished a couple of weeks traveling by auto up to Missouri to visit with my brother-in-law, Finley, then on up to Nebraska to spend a couple of days with a fellow ministry couple, Jack and Jan, then to Kansas to spend some time with our son David, his wife Melanie, and our four year old grandson, Phillip, for Thanksgiving, then to South Carolina to spend time with our daughter, Cheri, Jim her husband, and our grand children, Sarah, Aaron, Lydia and Naomi, and finally to attend a Board Meeting for the Vine Institute. We were received graciously in each place and I could not help but to think that Father was at the very center of every encounter with Family and Friends! What a delightful time of abiding! We even sensed His presence in the hours of driving through the beautiful countryside and marveling at the small towns inhabited by His creation. We were in no great hurry so we took the old roads when possible, avoiding the hustle and bustle of the Interstates. Everywhere we went it seemed His favor and love was being poured out on us and shed abroad in our hearts. What a sense of belonging!
Enough about our trip. In January of 1987, I read a book by DeVerne Fromke, entitled, THE ULTIMATE INTENTION. In it he weaves the theme of God’s plan for man which centers ultimately on God’s desire for a FAMILY. I will share with you some from Fromke’s book in the future, however, today I just wanted you to know that I am at peace and at rest in the Father as a part of His family, a part of God’s Plan for Man.
Peace in Christ!
